Do I Recommend It?: No…

What Is Bank Ramp?

Bank Ramp is a new program on the ClickBank platform, that was created by Jamie Lewis, a very well-known marketer in the online space, and one of his student, Matthew Sabia, who has been making a ton of money doing e-commerce. You see them both in the sales video for the program.

It starts off with Jamie telling you that he has made a ton of money on eBay and that he will show you a method where you only need 15 minutes to get started and be turning $1 into $8 multiple times every hour. After that, he just needs 20 minutes everyday to maintain the income.

Then, Matthew comes on and starts to show you results that the newbies are having, starting at $350 on their first day using the training. Jamie even claims that there isn’t a lot of learning to do either with the way that this system is going to work.

If I were a newbie in this area, I would have totally jumped on board with him; with only needing 15 minutes of set up time and 20 minutes a day to maintain it and paying a measly $29 for this program, it’s amazing! Anybody can do it! But that’s the problem, isn’t it? Not everybody is doing it and let me tell you why.

It’s true that you can make money doing ecommerce and a lot of it, but the truth is that it does not only take 15 minutes to set up, it does not take you only 20 minutes per day to maintain it and neither will it only cost you $29.

Additionally, there is no way that a complete newbie will be able to make $350 on their very first day. I don’t appreciate all the empty claims, promises and hypes within Jamie’s sales videos that are meant to tug at your desires and make you want to buy his program.

After all, his livelihood depends on whether or not you buy the program he creates. So, he will try as much as possible, to make the program look like a no-brainer, instead of giving you all the information that you really need to make an informed decision.

Let’s take a look to see what’s inside and if the program is really worth all the buzz and the hype.

The Method Taught Within Bank Ramp

At first, it was kind of confusing because the training started with videos on how to make money on eBay, using dollar store stuff and re-selling them at a higher price, and keeping the profit. But then, there was training on how to create your own Shopify store and how to market it on Instagram.

The rest of the training is more on how to be able to make money using your own Shopify store and thus, I don’t really understand why there would be training on eBay on there. My guess is for them to try and it seems like you’re paying for more.

So the training does over how to start setting up your Shopify store, getting your domain, using the widgets or plugins within the Shopify platform to make your store better. They also advise that you create an Instagram account because that’s how you will be marketing your website and your products.

Afterward, they get into explaining the way that you’ll be making money, which is called dropshipping. Dropshipping has all the benefits of running a regular online store, without the hassle of buying wholesale, storing the products, picking and packing of the products, as well as shipping it.

A particular order from your Shopify website will look like this: a customer orders the product on your website and pays you the retail price for it. You then go to your supplier and order it to be sent to your customer directly. You would then pay the supplier the wholesale price.

You keep the difference between the wholesale price and the retail price as your profit.

Although this looks like a great way of making money online, there are still a few things that you need to know before jumping into this business.

The Lies – Set-Up Time

The reason that I know about the negatives of making money online doing dropshipping, is because I was, myself, a dropshipper before. And so, even if you are interested in making money this way, it’s best that you make a decision knowing the realities behind this method.

You see, when Jamie tells you that you will be able to set this up in 15 minutes, he is lying to you. You would need to set up your store, research your niche, research suppliers and research your products, not to forget optimal pricing for your products, before you can make your Shopify store live.

And that’s going to take more than 15 minutes – try 15 days! So, in that respect, Jamie and Matthew are absolutely not setting up the correct expectations of the business.

Additionally, you’re taught to market on Instagram, which is great! But if you don’t have an Instagram account, or don’t have a huge following already, then you’re gonna have to post regularly on the platform to gain that following and to eventually make your first sale.

It’s not going to happen within your first 24 hours and thus, telling you that you could be earning within that time frame and making it sound typical, just shows how dirty of a game these guys are playing.

The Lies – The Cost To Run This Business

Moving on, you’re made to believe that you’re going to need only $29 to start such a business from the sales page, but in reality, there’s much more money involved. You’ll need to pay at least $30 every month to keep your Shopify store and you’ll need $14 – $16 to buy and register your own domain name.

Moreover, you’ll need to get traffic to your store. Without any traffic, you won’t have any buyers and won’t make any money.

Even though you can use free traffic in order to get visitors, you will be encouraged to use Ads. Paid Ads will absolutely bring you the results much faster, but there is no guarantee that anybody who sees the ad is going to click through and there’s no guarantee that whoever clicks through is going to buy anything.

Paid ads need an investment because the reality is that your ad is not going to perform as well as you hope it will, especially if you are a newbie. You need enough money to test out different ad campaigns and then you’ll need even more to optimize the campaigns that work.

Maybe you’ll need $30 for each test campaign and let’s say that you decide to test out 5 of them. That means you’ll need to have $150 on hand JUST for testing. And when you find out which one of the 5 campaigns are performing well, you’ll need to invest probably another $1000 into it, if you want to see $3000 – $4000 in profits.

And what’s more, is that there are upsells included within the training that cost from $124 – $194 that you’ll need to invest in to be getting similar results as were shown on the sales video. This to me, just proves that the sales video is not transparent at all and all these guys want, is for you to buy the front-end product.

The Lies – Maintaining This Business

Not only are there lies about the set-up and about the cost that is required for you to run the business, but they even lie to you about only needing 20 minutes on a daily basis to maintain the business.

First of all, when an order comes, you need to order that specific item from your supplier. That means that if there are 100 orders coming in on a daily basis, that you’ll need to order 100 items yourself from your supplier.

You also have to take care of customer complaints, exchange and returns, refunds and general inquiries. If you’re getting 100 sales every single day, you’re going to get quite a few emails to respond to. Additionally, you’ll also need to come up with promotions and sales for special days and the more products you have, the more management there is.

If he can do all that within 20 minutes, then he must have superhuman powers, because there’s realistically no way that all this could be completed within that time period.

Is Bank Ramp A Scam?

In my honest opinion, Bank Ramp is not a scam at all. I think that there is valuable information for anybody that wants to do dropshipping as an online business. There’s also a 60-day money back guarantee that you can utilize if ever you think that the program is not for you. So, there is no money lost there in trying the program.

However, I do not approve of marketing tactics. They tell you that you will only need 15 minutes of set up time, make it seem like all you’ll need to run the business is $29 and then make it seem so easy to manage the business after it’s set up. The reality is that it takes way more work and way more money if you want to make it in this business.

Jamie and Matthew both hide all the very important information from you and show you only the good side of the coin because they want you to buy the training. They set all kinds of unrealistic expectations and tell you and show you something completely different within the platform.

And because I have already done tried dropshipping before and it wasn’t all it was cracked up to be, I do not recommend Bank Ramp only because I have found a way better business model, that will, in my opinion, require less work and that will make you passive income.

A Business Model Better Than Dropshipping? – How I Make A Passive Online Income

Before making your final decision, I just want to show you how I make money online so you can weigh all your options. The way that I make money online is called affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing is a form of ecommerce but in my opinion, requires way less maintenance compared to dropshipping. All I do, is type up articles taking me about 2 – 3 hours in a day. They get ranked on Google, Bing and Yahoo, from where I get free visitors and buyers. A store is not going to rank like that.

So not only do I spend less time working everyday, but I also don’t have to spend money in getting traffic to my offers and the products that I endorse. I simply act as the middleman between the customer and the product and for each sale that is generated through the links on my website, I make money.

I could go days without writing anything and without looking at my website, but the articles that I have written in the past will still bring in visitors and sales, and thus passive income.

I won’t lie and tell you that this business took only 15 minutes to set up, as Jamie claims. You do need to learn the ropes of the business and you need to learn about a few technical things too, but what if I tell you that I can get you access to the platform that taught me all this, for completely FREE?

I didn’t know anything about affiliate marketing when I joined the platform and yet, here I am, making passive money online.
