I am all for typing jobs that you can do from the comfort of home and one main kind of typing job online that you will find, is solving captcha. Have you ever tried logging into a website where you were asked to decipher a series of letters and/or numbers from a picture and retyping them in a blank space? This is a captcha.
Many websites use them to prevent robot access to their website. These websites actually PAY someone to solve these captchas and one such company who takes care of that is 2captcha. I found mixed reviews about 2captcha and so I decided to try it for myself. So, is 2captcha legit? Let’s find out.

My First Impressions
Just looking at the homepage, I was not very impressed. Clients are paying from $0.50 to get 1000 captchas solved. Well, it is good from the perspective of the client but it didn’t look good from the perspective of the worker. From that perspective, 2captcha was obviously not gonna be paying workers more than what they charged.
The first question that shot to my mind was “How much are they actually paying their workers for 1000 captchas if they are charging $0.50 for those same 1000 captchas?” Another question that shot to mind was “That’s 1000 captchas that we are talking about, not 100. How long would it take me to solve 1000 captchas?”
I almost didn’t want to go forward with an account because it looked like such a waste of time to me, but I still did for the sake of this review and to be able to convey the most factual information to you. By the way, it is free to sign up with 2captcha. They don’t ask for any credit card details.
UPON LOGGING IN…
… I was redirected to my dashboard. It was very clean and easy to navigate. I also noticed an affiliate program, under which I could refer people. So if they signed up under me and worked, I would be getting paid commission from 2captcha. I liked that part, because there is potential to make more money. I just needed to figure out if it was worth it.
The training is short and straight to the point. You are given around 40 captchas to solve, for which you don’t get paid. These come with instructions on how to properly solve them, such as, when to include a space, how to recognize an “i” from “I” from “1” and to recognize when the captcha is case-sensitive.
Then, you need to pass a test by recognizing more captchas, after which if you pass, you get to start working and making money. To be honest, the training part wasn’t too bad. Each captcha loaded pretty quickly, as opposed to some complaints online about loading times, but that could be only for the training part.
There aren’t a lot in regards to tools that you would need in order to work with 2captcha. But I have found two ways that you can make money here; first, through the embedded working platform and the other is by downloading and installing their software, called 2captchabot, where you supposedly would be making more money.
Another aspect that could be described as a “tool” would be the Statistics page. This page gives you insight into how many people are working in real-time. This is important because it determines your earnings. The more people that are online solving captcha, the less you get paid. So before you actually start solving anything, I found it is best to check the Statistics page. I have found less workers online generally in the early morning, after lunch-time and very late at night.
Working for 2captcha
Through the embedded workstation – It took a long time to load, sometimes as long as 20 seconds, while I was just waiting and staring into space. It was nothing like the training. When a captcha does load, you only have about 10 seconds to solve it and type it in, else your account goes into hibernation. It does not load anymore captcha for you to solve until you actually click on “START WORK” again.
A good feature is that you could even log in from your smartphone or tablet, and still work on-the-go through their mobile interface.
On the top right-hand corner of the screen, you will find two things; your mistakes and your reputation. Mistakes is pretty self-explanatory. It gives you the number of mistakes that you make and when you click on the number, it takes you to the list of mistakes you committed. Your reputation is basically the total number of captchas solved. It has nothing to do with earning potential. One difference that your reputation will make is, as soon as you reach 3.000, you can choose to only solve ReCaptcha, which will raise your earnings.
Note: 1 solved captcha = 0.001 reputation. Which means that you need to solve 3000 captchas to reach a reputation of 3.000.
Through 2captchabot – The work on the software is actually very different from the embedded interface. Here, you will be recognizing items in a group of pictures, mostly in relation to street signs, storefronts, cars and roads. It seems easy, to just click on the picture where you find what they are asking you but what I found really annoying is that the “Please try again” message appears even though I make sure to click on the correct images. It comes up multiple times and then approves.
I did find that the potential to make money on 2captchabot is a little higher because you can work on two at a time, but I still haven’t earned even $1 having solved 1300+ overall captchas.
Note: I solved around 1300 captchas 3 days in a row, over the course of 3 sessions, each session being around 2 hours in length. (Total working hours = 6)
Most of your questions are answered on 2captcha’s FAQ page but we all know that sometimes, that’s not enough. Sometimes, we just need to get a human involved to solve our problem.
What I like…
… about the support here is that it is easily accessible through the main dashboard. You can also ask for help on their Facebook page, where I see there is a fair amount of involvement.
What I don’t like…
… is the fact that there is no live support. So you may be stuck until they decide to answer you and they don’t actually tell you when you can expect to get an answer back. Some people have reported they had to wait at least 10 days to get any kind of response from their support team.
As I mentioned above, there is no fee to work for 2captcha. However, there may be fees associated with cashing out your earnings. There is nothing out of pocket for you to pay. The fees come out of your earnings directly when 2captcha sends out the payment. The percentage will vary depending on the medium / company you use as a means of cashing out.
2captcha uses the below for withdrawals:
– Perfect Money
… and some other companies that I have never heard of before. Paypal is nowhere to be found. I like to see Paypal as a payout gateway though.
The minimum you have to accumulate to cash out is 1 USD.
Success Stories / Feedback
Yes, there are people that have gotten paid from 2captcha and this is literally the only good thing about them. Apart from that, you are only able to see complaint over complaint.
Mostly, the complaints are;
– doing a lot of work for too little pay
– slow loading times
– banned accounts due to mistakes made in solving
– “try again” messages on the software although correct images were selected
Here are a few of these feedbacks.
Is 2captcha legit? Yes.
Do I recommend it? If all you’re looking for here is pocket money, then this is the place to do it. But keep in mind that it will take some time for you to make money with this platform.
All the reviews / feedback from people who have had the experience of working with 2captcha have proven to be true. Sure, it is an easy way to make money but it is not easy money. I worked 6 hours for $0.77. Just look at the picture below, beside Balance. This does not even pay for my daily cup of coffee. In my opinion, you can do much better things with 6 hours of your time daily. I would even prefer working part-time on minimum wage than work on solving captcha for this company.
Okay, now you might tell me that you are a stay-at-home parent, you’re disabled or that you’re a full-time student and need something that will work around your schedule and personal needs, not the other way around.
