Welcome to this honest My Online Startup review. And I say honest here because there are a lot of other reviews that are all for it and others who diss it to promote their own programs.
So who’s telling the truth? Well, I’ve been in the online marketing world for over 2 years and I’ve obviously been making a nice profit from it, working part-time, so I know what works and what doesn’t.
Does My Online Startup work or is it just another scam that is going to strip you of your hard-earned money? Does Chuck keep his promise and shows you how real money is made online or is he bluffing?
This review is going to reveal everything, from the good, the bad and also the ugly, so that you can make an informed buying decision. Let’s go ahead and see whether this program is what it is advertised to be.
My Online Startup At A Glance
Creator: Chuck Nguyen
Purpose: Learn to make money online doing affiliate marketing
Price: Both free and paid ($147 One-Time fee) accounts available
Do I Recommend It?: Yes, for a free program, I really do think that it’s got some good training and resources. There is a possibility of you really making money only using the free training.
What Is My Online Startup?
Chuck, the creator, is the one who presents this opportunity to us. First of all, I really like the fact that he is a real person and that he does not hide behind the website. Him not doing this proves that he has got nothing to hide.
He says that this method of making money online is going to be easy, fast, simple and it is a proven formula. For 100% completely free, you get to profit from multiple streams of passive income.
You can make this work even if you’ve never made a dime before and whether or not you have any experience. I can say that this is totally true, because that was the case with me, but how many programs actually tell is the same thing?
We’ll have to wait and see to find out.
What I don’t like is that he says you’ll only need to work a few hours a week and still be able to make a ton of money. You could also even be earning on autopilot for giving stuff away for free.
The truth is that it takes hard work to make money and you need to give the business time to also grow. You can’t expect to only be working 3 – 4 hours a week and be making 6 figures. Reminds me of the 4 Hour Work Week, which was garbage!
I’m kind of disappointed in Chuck for this, but that does sound too good to be true. However, what I do like is that he is upfront about possibly needing other tools for which you need to pay. So if that’s the case, then it is still possible to work a few hours a week and make really good money.
It depends on your expectations; if you’re really not willing to spend anything on tools, as he mentions, then you’re probably not going to make as much money and not as fast as you think you will.
One thing that I really liked though, is that he says you’ll have access to a community inside of My Online Startup, which reminds me of my #1 Recommendation. Being able to interact with others is crucial, not only for support, but also for motivation and inspiration.
So far, most of what Chuck says sounds promising, and he is one of the very few who actually almost does not have red flags. He is really an affiliate marketer who’s been making money online for years, and it’s not so bad to learn from somebody who actually knows what he is doing, right?
What You Get For Free With My Online Startup
Needless to say that since this is free that I signed up for it. And what is it that you’ll learn with this program? It’s called Affiliate marketing.
Let me say that it is a legitimate way of making money online. All you have to do is promote a vendor’s products and for each sale that you bring to that vendor, you make commissions. Even Amazon and Ebay use this method.
But anyways, the core training consists of a total of 41 videos that, in my opinion, hold quite a lot of value. These videos are broken down into the following 9 headings;
1) Getting Started – 1 video
2) Step 1 – The Game Plan – 1 video
3) Step 2 – Success Mindset – 7 videos
4) Step 3 – Affiliate Marketing – 5 videos
5) Step 4 – Lead Generation – 6 videos
6) Step 5 – Authority Platform – 7 videos
7) Step 6 – Youtube Marketing – 6 videos
8) Step 7 – Forum Marketing – 1 video
9) Step 8 – Targeted Solo Ads – 4 videos
10) Step 9 – Traffic Networks – 3 videos
You’ll basically receive training from how to keep yourself motivated and to have the right mindset from the get-go, how to pick a profitable niche along with having a niche checklist.
What I like is that you don’t have to choose the make-money-online niche, which a lot of other DFY programs are gonna have pre-selected for you. With Chuck’s training, you can choose to start and grow a business in any niche of your choosing.
Moreover, you get in-depth training on how to create quality lead magnets and setting up your autoresponder.
You also are given some basic training on starting your blog and the importance of having your own website but in my honest opinion, there isn’t enough training under this topic to make yourself successful using this method.
Even Chuck recognizes that and leads you to Wealthy Affiliate, which is in fact, my #1 Recommendation. At least he is covering himself there. It is where I myself got my training and it is thanks to the training there that I started making profits online.
It’s nice that he is recommending a great platform but in my opinion, it got annoying when he promoted it just a little too much.
But other than that, the Youtube marketing course was really helpful and even though I have some experience with videos, he gave me ideas that I will now myself incorporate in my Youtube Channel.
Under this training, I really don’t like the fact that he does not give a lot of ideas on what type of shooting and editing will be needed for different niches. He just leaves you on your own and tells you to do research.
Then, we move on to forum traffic training, which is a free way of getting traffic to your offers. I feel that his training is quite unique there.
Let’s also not forget his Solo Ads and Traffic Networks. Those are paid methods of getting traffic that are effective, but that can get expensive in the long-term if you don’t know what you’re doing. So I would recommend sticking to the free traffic methods until you know what you’re doing.
Costs Of Running This Business
Although you’ll get all the videos and the training for free, as well as SOME tools, not everything is going to be free if you seriously want to make money online. Even the carpenter needs his hammer and needs to buy it before going out on a job.
Just like that you’ll also need certain tools that are going to be indispensable to you growing your online business. There are a lot of good tools that Chuck puts in front of us, and here are some of them that will need some investment.
1) Autoresponder – The one that Chuck recommends is GetResponse and you’ll need this tool in order to automate your lead-gathering and your list-building. This will cost a minimum of 15$ per month and will increase the longer your list gets.
2) Web hosting – This is important, especially if you’re thinking of blogging as a way to get traffic to your offers. Getting your own domain name will cost you around $15 per YEAR + monthly web hosting, which turns out to be around $5 per month.
But one thing to beware of is that Bluehost tends to double or triple the monthly costs after the first year is over. That’s why u don’t recommend it as a provider.
3) Wealthy Affiliate – Why I think you need to pay for a WA account is because of the fact that the blog training inside My Online Startup is not enough. You’ll need the in-depth training and the guidance from WA to really build a strong foundation.
For the paid subscription, you do have several payment options; $49/month, $234 every 6 months and $359 annually.
If you do choose to go with WA, then the good news is that you won’t have to go with Bluehost for web hosting because WA already has a built-in place to buy your own domain name and to host it on their servers. That is included in the fee.
Additionally, if you just want to try things out now, just a tip; sign up for a free WA account now and take advantage of their free websites and free hosting. Sure, you won’t own the websites, but you could try things out before you actually purchase anything.
That’s what I’m loving about both My Online Startup and WA.
4) Solo Ads – If you were to skip the free traffic generation strategies, because admittedly, it does take more time than paid traffic, then know that the best one that I would recommend would be Solo Ads.
But like I said, it does get expensive. You’ll probably need to spend a few hundred dollars in order to make another few hundred dollars in profit.
That’s why if you’re a beginner, I would suggest sticking to the free methods of gaining traffic, to really understand your audience and the business model. Once you do, then you can make the most out of paid traffic methods.
If you asked me which ones of these 4 tools that I would say was absolutely necessary, then I would say the Autoresponder and the membership at WA. Believe it or not, WA can help you better market and promote even My Online Startup.
Earning Potential With My Online Startup
Now that you understand what it takes to really start and maintain your online business, let’s talk a little bit about what happens if you choose the make-money-online niche and decide to promote My Online Startup.
The truth is that you don’t have to pay to earn from the sales you make within My Online Startup, but that means that you won’t make any money should people only choose to remain a free member.
In order to make money, the members you refer will need to upgrade to the paid version, called the Insider Membership. This costs a one-time fee of $147. This is not much considering that you get a ton of value from the training anyway. I do think that the training is worth that!
But the real perk of being an Insider member instead of just a free one, is the fact that you get to earn 5X times more than a free member.
As an Insider member, you get paid $100 for each person that becomes an Insider member too, as opposed to only $20 per person you refer who upgrades.
So in my honest opinion, it does make sense to upgrade to the paid version, especially since it’s just a one-time fee. You get access to the updates in the training and will forever make $100 on EACH referral that upgrades.
I think that’s great value!
Is My Online Startup A Scam?
Absolutely not! I really do not think that My Online Startup is a scam. That’s because there is a ton of value that you can have for completely free, not to mention that there is a high chance of you making money with the methods taught here.
Sure, because it’s free, the training is not perfect, but it is WAY better than even some of the paid training that I’ve seen and reviewed on this website itself. If you want to get on the right path to affiliate marketing, then this training is the one.
Not only do you get 41 videos, but you also get access to some tools and the whole community at My Online Startup. People are very much active and I can see that Chuck is active on the platform himself.
You can leave comments and questions for him after each lesson and you will either get a reply from Chuck himself or from another knowledgeable member of the community. Like I said, this reminds me of WA.
A lot of the tools are free but again, you need some paid tools to really make your only business a success. There is no business on earth that you’ll be able to start and maintain for completely free. Even the employee needs a way to get to work and pays for either a bus fare everyday or for their car and the gas that it uses.
So bottom line is that yes, I do recommend My Online Startup as a starting point for you to understand how making money online works with affiliate marketing and I do approve of 99% of the tools that he recommends.
