Solo Build It vs Wealthy Affiliate – Which is better?

You have been going back and forth; Solo Build It vs Wealthy Affiliate.

Which one is the better platform to go with to really be able to get your online business off the ground? Well, I know about both platforms, so here I bring you a comparison between the two.

Allow me to just jump in and say that Wealthy Affiliate, which is my #1 Recommendatiom, trumps SBI (Solo Build It) in more ways than one.

Let me show you why Wealthy Affiliate should be your choice. I’m not saying this to push you into signing up with Wealthy Affiliate for a commission, far from it! I have used them both and want to help you make an informed decision, above all else. But I just feel that Wealthy Affiliate gives you better value for the money you pay.

If you don’t want to stick around and read this whole article, I have compiled the below table for you so you can have idea of the differences between the two programs.

The Differences Between the Two Platforms

SBI is actually one of the legit platforms you will find on the internet. However, compared to Wealthy Affiliate, SBI is lacking in a few areas;

1) SBI has no commenting feature and Wealthy Affiliate does – This is particularly important because the more comments you receive and reply to, the more the search engines will deem your content as helpful (because there is actual engagement) and move it up in the search engines’ ranks.

Also keep in mind that every time somebody comments and you reply, that this is adding additional content to your website, that also gets indexed, which will result in better rankings.

Not only do comments at an earlier stage help boost the time that it takes for your post to get indexed, but you start at a much better ranking too.

2) SBI is a little more “old-school” – Although what SBI teaches still works today, the feel of the website is a little chunky and they don’t really teach you the aesthetics side of your website.

Wealthy Affiliate teaches you how to make your website more pleasing to the eyes of your visitors and this results in your visitors spending more time on your website, and the search engines love that! The easier it is to navigate a website, the more trust you receive and the better your conversions.

The training videos, you will notice look much older at SBI than at Wealthy Affiliate, which proves that what is taught there stands the test of time but it also shows that they don’t really update their training to give their trainees a better feel of what the present day back- office of a website looks like.

There have been a lot of updates on the internet over the years and many things just don’t look the same now, which may make learning a little harder due to difficulty in finding information.

3) SBI does not seek the use of plug-ins – Plug-ins are an important part of your website, where they make your job easier. You can think of them as APPS that work in the background and that are sometimes visible (such as social network plug-ins to encourage your readers to share to social media), that increases the functionality of your website.

Wealthy Affiliate gives a whole training on how to make proper use of plug-ins for WordPress and shows you how they can make your life easier in the long-run.

SBI seems to focus more on content as the long-term success of your website, which is also what Wealthy Affiliate teaches. Content is KING. But you want your work to get easier with time as well and plug-ins help you with that.

4) No social interaction / community within SBI – Within SBI, you get a lot of training and support from the SBI team itself, which is great. But you don’t get to blog or interact with the other members of SBI within the platform itself.

At Wealthy Affiliate, the platform allows you to share your successes and failures, ask questions directly within lessons (which other members can answer, not only the support team), read other people’s journeys and how they reached success today! You can even private message any member of Wealthy Affiliate and seek help. There is a GREAT community feel at Wealthy Affliate that SBI does not offer.

I feel like this community feel is a great motivation, because you can interact with those that have been successful within the program and you get to hear of different opinions and strategies from different people that will open up the possibilities and broaden your perspective.

5) No Additional Training within SBI – At SBI, whatever is taught, is from the SBI team themselves, which I think is very narrow compared to what Wealthy Affiliate has in place. There is no way for SBI members to contribute to the SBI community in terms of what they learn, that might not be taught by the SBI team.

With Wealthy Affiliate, you can post training and tutorials and EARN from them, after you have been a member with them for 3 months. This is unique to Wealthy Affiliate only! Not only do you get to earn extra money, but you also get to learn from experienced marketers who have been in the field for 15+ years, other than the Wealthy Affiliate team themselves.

This gives the opportunity for team members to share what they have learned over the years and helps to cover the gaps that might appear within the official Wealthy Affiliate training itself.

Allowing training and tutorials from other marketers is also great, because you can be sure to almost always find the most updated training, that Wealthy Affiliate might not have had a chance to update yet. This releaves the pressure on the Wealthy Affiliate Team and at the same time, is a great way of allowing others to provide the most up-to-date information that newbies need.

6) Price Point between SBI and Wealthy Affiliate – That’s a big one! Let me start by saying that Wealthy Affiliate offers two types of memberships; a free LIFETIME membership and a premium / paid membership. SBI only has a paid membership.

The free lifetime membership within Wealthy Affiliate obviously will not allow you access to the premium membership materials, but it offers tremendous value for being free! You can host free websites and earn money while you learn the business. You can then upgrade when you’re ready or not at all.

SBI’s paid membership though has a 90 day money-back guarantee. Personally, I prefer to try something for free than having to tie up my money for 90 days but that’s your choice.

Wealthy Affiliate may appear to be more expensive at $49 / month compared to SBI, which is at $29.99 / month but let me explain the difference.

Not only are you getting access to top-of-the-line technology, updated and best-in-class training, access to a community 24/7 and tools (Like the commenting feature and keyword tool) within Wealthy Affiliate, but you get to also host upto 50 websites for the same price!

Keep in mind that SBI will only allow you to host 1 website for the price of $29.99.

What’s even better, is if you go annually. SBI will charge you $299 for it and Wealthy Affiliate will charge you $359. The extra $60 YEARLY is definitely worth it if you manage multiple websites and if you want to get to results faster.

In A Nutshell

I hope that I have given you enough information for you to be able to make an informed decision. As I mentioned earlier, I am not trying to make any SBI members angry; I’m not bashing the program. I am only stating facts that have jumped out at me while using both programs.

SBI is one of the better programs out there and is definitely not a scam. It is a program that will teach you how to make money online almost properly. Yes, it is a cheaper alternative when you compare it to Wealthy Affiliate, but for the long-term, choosing Wealthy Affiliate will work better. They update their material more often, the community advantages are just out of this world and the tools and other perks are just mind-blowing.

If you have had experience with any of the two platforms, I invite you to leave your thoughts, experiences and even questions in the comments section below and I will get back to you ASAP. Your contribution in the comments could really make an impact and help somebody else make an informed decision.

I hope you have enjoyed this post. Whichever way you choose to make money, I only wish for your success.
