What is Slice the Pie? You have good reason to be asking this question because, to be honest with you, it has nothing to do with selling pies. If you are somebody who has never heard about it, then you may be surprised to know that it has to do with music. I know, right? Who would have thought?
Slice the Pie is a platform that has been established since 2007. A lot of times, you do need to take into consideration how long a company has been online. If it has been online for a year or less, then you need to be cautious, even if they pay their workers.
A lot of scams online, will pay their workers for the first year or so, maybe even sometimes, longer. But they will stop paying after that.
Since Slice the Pie has been around for a long time, you can safely trust this website to pay you, because they have been paying their workers since the time they opened. They have been online for more than 10 years, not just a few years.
The work is all about rating songs, fashion items, accessories and commercials before they are released to the public.
The reviews will go straight to the people who put in the request for reviews and they may take your review into consideration to make changes, before they release their items.
It is actually free to create an acocunt with Slice the Pie. The information that you need to provide at sign-up, is your full name, your emaill adress and your date of birth. You also need to specify your gender, though I don’t think that information is necessary.
I would like to add at this point, before going any further, that your email address on your account must match your Paypal account because they will use that email address to send the pay out.
Once you’ve signed up, you will be receiving a confirmation email and once you confirm your email, you will be redirected to sign in and you will be able to start reviewing.
After I signed up, and since I signed up, I was only able to review music. When it camed to the fashion stuff and the commercials, to be honest with you, there has NEVER been any to review. So if your main reason to join this website is to review fashion or commercials, then you will be disappointed.
So I will only be talking about reviewing music, since I have not had any experiences with reviewing the other items.
I also want to say, before starting the process of the review, that your reviewer level will start at a 1-star level, and don’t take that personally. Everybody starts at that level and work their way up, depending on the quality of their reviews. As your level goes up, so does your pay.
After you select that you want to review music, you will be brought to a page where you will be able to listen to the song that needs the review. Unfortunately, rightnow you are not able to select the genre of the music that you would like to listen to or to review. But they are working on genre selection.
You will need to listen to the song for at least 90 seconds. The way that you will be reviewing the song, will be through writing what you like or dislike about it and assigning a rating out of 10, 0 stating that the music was VERY BAD and 10 stating that you could find no faults with the song.
I found out that I could write the review while listening to the song but I could only submit it after having listened to it for at least 90 seconds. Also keep in mind that there is a required length for the review for you to be able to submit the review, shown by the orange filler at the bottom of where you write the review.
Is all this work worth it?
Payments are made through Paypal only and it takes about 5 days to show in your account. It takes that long because they have to make sure that all the reviews are scanned by their team to determine whether it is acceptable or not before passing them on to the people that made the requests.
I had to write a few reviews to really get the hang of it and be able to write the review within the 90 seconds of listening to it. It made sense to me, that the fastest I could make money, would be to finish writing my review of the song within the 90 second window.
Each song that you review, to start, will pay you 1cent ($0.01). Therefore, every 90 seconds, you will be making 1cent, if you are fast enough with writing the review.
Doing the math for you, if I can write every single review within the 90 seconds, then I will be able to complete 40 reviews within 1 hour.
Completing 40 reviews in 1 hour, where I get paid 1cent per review, this will give me an hourly rate of $0.40. ONLY 40CENTS!
That’s if I work on my own.
Is there a way to make more with Slice the Pie?
There is, but I don’t personally think that it gets much better.
The way to make more with Slice the Pie, is to refer other people to work on their platform. Every time they complete a review and get paid, you will get 1/10 of their pay.
Therefore, if your referrals are able to make 40cents per hour, then you will make 4cents per hour per referral.
If you had 13 referrals working consistently alongside you, then you could make just over $1 per hour. I know it adds up over time and you could make some passive income with it, but it would require A LOT of effort to market your referral link so enough people can sign up.
To give you some perspective, let’s say you want to make $30 per day, consistently on this platform. This means that you will need to refer 750 with your referral link and have them work for at least 1 hour per day, so you can pocket $30. Having the 750 people to sign up is no easy feat.
Although Slice the Pie is a legit platform, I cannot recommend it based on the fact that I don’t think $1 an hour, at its best realistically, will help me improve my financial situation. I definitely think that it is a waste of time and I would personally go out and work for somebody else part time for 3 hours and I could make $30 very easily that way.
For the person who is patient enough to promote their link through social media and maybe even through their website (that gets heavy traffic), it may be worth it IF you have a very wide audience you can promote your link to.
To the others who are shaking their heads in unison with me, then SMILE! because I have an alternative for you.
What’s the alternative?
To be honest with you, even I started out working with these companies that pay pennies for your hard work because I was always falling for scams that stole my money. So I thought, it was better for me to be working and making SOMETHING rather than let scammers take my money.
At least that way, I was still making some money, no matter how little.
But one day, I stumbled across a platform that didn’t promise me thousands overnight and it had a free trial, without the need to sign up with any credit card information. So, I tried it.
And it was the best decision that I could have ever taken for myself and my family!
The online training platform that I joined is called Wealthy Affiliate and it is the best platform that you will find online, that will not only train you to grow a sustainable business online, but also how to maintain it for the long-term.
It has a wonderful support platform, the best that you will ever see and it also includes all the tools that you will need within the premium membership, with NO upsells whatsoever.
The best thing is, that you can remain a free member forever if you like, and you can still learn how to make money using a FREE fully functional website.
I have tried my best to lay bare every single fact about the program in the link above and I really encourage you to sign up for a FREE account. If you do, I will be able to help you personally in your online venture. By creating a Free account on the platform, I have no financial gain. Therefore, it is really in your own interest that I say you must try it out.
Before you leave…
… I would really appreciate if you could take a minute to leave a comment about your experiences, if you have had any, with Slice the Pie. How did you find the website? The songs? Were any of you able to review the fashion side or the commercials? Did you get paid? Do you exercise the referral link promotion and how is that working out for you?
If you also have any questions about Slice the Pie or Wealthy Affiliate, or would just like to share your experiences with any of the programs, you are also welcome to leave them below. 🙂
